Drone Buddy
Kirway LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Drone Buddy mobile application and this website (together, the “Service”). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Drone Buddy.
Information we collect
Location
If you allow location access, we use your approximate or precise location to show local weather, wind, Best Flying Windows, no-fly zone context, and nearby flying sites. You can turn location off in your device settings; some features will then require a manual search or will be limited.
Account information
If you create an account to submit or interact with flying sites, we collect the email address you use to sign in, and any profile details you choose to provide.
Content you submit
When you add a flying site, photo, description, sponsor post, or other community content, we store that material so we can review it and, if approved, show it to other pilots. Photos and site details you upload may be visible to other users if published.
Purchases
Drone Buddy Pro and other in-app purchases are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. We receive an entitlement signal (for example, that your subscription is active). We do not receive your full payment card number.
Device and diagnostics
We may collect app version, device type, operating system, language, crash logs, and similar technical data so we can keep the app stable and fix bugs. This can include IP address and diagnostic identifiers that are not used to market to you as a named person.
Website
This website is a static landing page. It does not require an account. If you email us, we will have the address and message you send.
How we use information
- Provide weather, wind, Best Flying Windows, maps, news, and flying-site features
- Show no-fly zone and airspace context near your location or a place you search
- Review, publish, or reject community submissions
- Restore Pro access across your devices through the app stores
- Respond to support mail at sayhi@dronebuddy.io
- Improve reliability (crash reports and usage that helps us find bugs)
- Send optional product email if you have opted in; you can unsubscribe
- Comply with law and protect the Service against abuse
Weather, maps, and other providers
Weather data is sourced from Apple Weather / WeatherKit and the meteorological agencies described on our Data Sources page. Maps in the app may be provided by Apple Maps or other mapping providers. Those companies process data under their own privacy terms when the OS or SDK sends it to them.
We use Google Firebase and Crashlytics to understand crashes and basic app health. You can often limit advertising or analytics identifiers in iOS or Android settings. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us run the app (hosting, crash reporting, email), under an obligation to use it only for that work
- With other users, when you publish a flying site, photo, or sponsor post
- If required by law, or to protect Kirway LLC, our users, or the public
- If the business is transferred, with notice where required
Retention
We keep account and published community content while your account is active and as long as the content remains on the map. Crash logs are kept only as long as needed to debug. You can ask us to delete an account or a submission by emailing sayhi@dronebuddy.io. Some records may be retained where we must keep them for legal, security, or dispute reasons.
Your choices
- Device location, camera, and photo permissions are controlled in iOS or Android settings
- You can sign out, stop using community features, or request account deletion
- Subscriptions are managed in your Apple or Google account settings
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Email us to make a request
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts for community features are intended for users 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Kirway LLC is based in the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
