FAA Part 107 TEST Cheat Sheet

  1. Remote-PIC responsibility: Everything relating to the sUAS and its operation.

  2. Considered small UAV: Weighing under 55 lbs

  3. The requirement for the sUAS to be in a condition for safe operation: Always

  4. Remote-pilot certificate currency: Must have passed initial or recurrent test/course with last 24 months

  5. Registration requirements for sUAS: Any aircraft over 0.55 lbs

  6. UAS registration validity: 36 months

  7. Reporting Address change: Within 30 days

  8. Reporting accidents: Serious injury, loss of consciousness or damage over $500, must report within 10 days

  9. Regulatory deviation and reporting requirements for in-flight emergencies: Deviations are allowed to respond to an emergency. Report requested by FAA

  10. Medical condition(s) that would interfere with safe operation of an sUAS: Any impairment of physical or mental abilities

  11. Allowing a person other than the remote PIC to manipulate the flight controls: Yes, if the RPIC is in a position to take over the controls

  12. Hazardous operations: Never

  13. Careless or reckless: Never

  14. Operating from a moving aircraft or moving land- or water-borne vehicle: Moving Aircraft – NEVER, Land or water-borne – Allowed if sUA is over sparsely populated area

  15. Alcohol or drugs and the provisions on prohibition of use: No alcohol 8 hours before flight for all crew, No >0.04 BAC, No effects of alcohol (i.e hangover)

  16. Daylight operation: Sunrise to sunset, With anti-collision lights, civil twilight operations allowed (30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset)

  17. Visual line of sight (VLOS) aircraft operations: sUA must be in sight of RPIC+person at controls or VO

  18. The requirements when a visual observer is used: Optional

  19. The prohibition of operating multiple sUAS: One sUA per RPIC

  20. The prohibition of carrying hazardous material: Never

  21. Staying safely away from other aircraft and right-of-way rules: Manned aircraft always have right of way

  22. Operations over people: Never, unless in building or stationary vehicle

  23. Flight in controlled airspace: (Classes A, B, C, D, E)Requires ATC permission (Except Class E without an airport)

  24. Flight in uncontrolled airspace (Class G): No ATC permission required

  25. Operating in prohibited areas: Never

  26. Operating in restricted areas: With permission only

  27. Flight restrictions in the proximity of certain areas designated by notice to airmen (NOTAM): Usually no, with permission only

  28. Maximum groundspeed: 100 mph (87 kts)

  29. Altitude limitations: 400 feet from ground or structure

  30. Cloud clearance requirements: 500 feet below, 2000 ft horizontally from clouds

  31. Minimum visibility3 Statute miles

  32. Is transportation of property permitted: Yes if flight is: Conducted within VLOS, Not conducted from any moving vehicle,Not considered interstate air transportation.
